Santafefabrics.com: A Success Story

Santa Fe Fabrics Home PageI generally avoid creating sites that incorporate a great deal of text on any one page, but my customer insisted that the front page include a summary of the store’s inventory.  I reluctantly agreed, after all, the customer is my wife! I have happily been proven wrong; customers visiting the store frequently quote from what they have found on the front page, proving that they have read through the entire page.

The site, built in WordPress, also includes a robust blog, which is updated frequently.  We have also created a Facebook fan page, and we use Constant Contact to send out monthly email campaigns.  The site also features a page with customer creations and a “New Arrivals” page that showcases a few of the more recent additions to an ever-expanding inventory.

Santa Fe Fabrics BlogThe content-rich site has also proven helpful in improving search engine ranking.  The text, which includes descriptive headings, as well as the blog, Facebook, and back links from other high-quality sites, has placed the site’s ranking at the top of Google’s search results for “Santa Fe fabric stores”, above all competition.

The strategy of combining a content-rich site that is frequently updated with social media and email campaigns has paid off well. A large percentage of the store’s customers are visitors to Santa Fe, and many report that they found the store in their online search for things to see during their visit.
